Privacy & Confidentiality

Your information is private, and my obligation is to maintain strict confidentiality of clients' records. Your information cannot be released to anyone unless you give me written and verbal consent.  There are limits to confidentiality in circumstances when there is suspicion that a child is being physically abused, when there is risk that the patient may harm himself or harm someone else, and when there is evidence of sexual misconduct by a regulated health professional.  Privacy issues, confidentiality, and clinic policies will be discussed in detail at our first appointment. At that time, my client (or parent/legal guardian) will be asked to sign a consent form providing informed consent for psychological services and agreeing to the policies.
